About

Legal & Financial Planning Services offers assistance and financial planning related to the needs of an injured Veterans and their caregiver. These benefits are now available to Primary Family Caregivers enrolled in the Program of Comprehensive Assistance for Family Caregivers (PCAFC).

Eligible participants have access to paralegals, licensed attorneys and certified financial counselors. These professionals provide consultative financial planning and legal services relating to the needs of injured Veterans and their caregivers. 

How do I receive personalized services

To receive a call from the contact center to set up an appointment with a representative from your local CSP Team to discuss individualized services by using the Register button on the website and following the prompts on the screen.​

  • Legal advice and consultations related to: 

    • Simple wills.​

    • Advance directives.

    • Power of attorney.

    • Durable power of attorney for healthcare.

    • Guardianship of the Veteran. 

    • Identity theft education, information, and restorative services.

    • Assistants with disputes (defaults, garnishments, insurance, Lemon Laws, neighbor, etc.). 

      • Drafting documents pertaining to credit reporting agencies, businesses, and debt collector notifications.​

      • Drafting letter or fielding phone calls to resolve personal disputes with a landlord or creditor. 

    • Referrals to community legal services for matters not otherwise covered.

  • Financial planning services and financial counselor consultations related to: 

    • Household budgeting. 

    • Debt management. 

    • Retirement planning review and education. 

    • Insurance review and education. 

    • Education on alternative insurance options for health, auto, life, and homeowner/renter's insurance.

    • Education on mortgage loans and refinancing. 

    • 90-day extensive financial coaching services.

    • Credit management. 

    • Education in planning for college expenses and addressing student loans. 

    • Education and referral information related to items such as estate planning, investing, tax planning, et.

    • Referrals to community financial planning services for matters not otherwise covered.

Live webinars and videos on-demand for your convenience.

  • The live and on-demand webinars are part of the legal and financial planning services portfolio. Most range from 30 to 60 minutes long.​
